This is not my beautiful house..

Yes, that's a line from Once in a Lifetime by the Talking Heads. I was listening to that song when I uploaded these pics to flickr.

And it's true.. this isn't my house.

I don't actually know how I got here, but that's not important. People with an interest in architecture might recognize this place as Farnsworth House, originally designed and constructed by Mies van der Rohe. If you like to rent the house here in Second Life, you should contact someone named Akko Yoshikawa.

I know that eventually I'll want a place of my own. And then I'll have to take a closer look at the options. Should I get a Premium account and buy land from Linden Lab or just rent a house from someone? I'm not thinking about that right now. I want to remain a traveller for a little while longer.

If you have only seen me on day one, you may notice a few changes to my appearance. My skin is different, the colour of my eyes has changed.. I am a bit taller and my breasts are a little bigger, though not too much.

When I was very young..

When I was only a couple of hours old, CodeBastard took me by the hand and we went to a few places. She gave me a lovely pair of red pumps and my first Linden Dollars. I spent some of that money at this place, where I bought three skins. It was the last night of an event called Another Fundraiser. All money raised was going to be donated to Unicef, and besides, according to Codie $L50 for a skin is pretty cheap.

Later we went to Codie's studio, where I was allowed to watch her doing a photoshoot. I took some snapshots myself. Most of them of the model, Sean Gorham, but also two of Codie. Neither of these two is very good to start with, but I made an attempt to ensure that at least one is preserved for posterity. I'm not saying I succeeded, but at least I tried. This is a part of the original snapshot:

I'll give you the short version of what I did.
Oh and let's not focus on the fact that Codie's left arm seems to disappear right through her dress. There's not much I can do to fix that.. :)
Brightened up the whole picture.
I got rid of a few rough edges (for example, the right shoulder)
Fixed the left upper arm, so it no longer looks like Codie has been on steroids.
Changed the blending mode of two layers, and I did some additional dodging and burning.

I'd love to hear what you think of it. Also, tell me if there is anything you would have done differently. Please leave a comment here or on Flickr.

First post

Welcome to my blog. Hello, my name is Angelfeet Trevellion. I was born Sunday February 3rd 2008, 9:52 AM SLT. Even though I am still very young, I can say I like this life very much. There is so much to see, so much to do, that I only hope I have the time for it. I love the diversity of this world and am delighted by the creativity and ingenuity of some people. Eventually I want to start designing and building things myself, but for now I just want to go places and make new friends.

I will use this blog as a record of my activities. My very good friend and mentor Tamar (who is from a place they call First Life) gave me the advice to take notes as much as possible. Some of the most noteworthy things will end up here. Currently she is teaching me how to use Photoshop. I want to post photos in this blog as well and I need to learn how to edit the snapshots that I'm taking to make them look better.

I already have a lot of catching up to do. I promise to tell you some things about my first week very soon.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Add me to your blogroll if you like. And please say hi when you see me in-world.
